Over 2-day sessions, under patronage of President Saddam Hussein, proceedings of the pan-Arab 2nd conference of vocational organizations to show solidarity with Iraq have started under the title “Arab vocational, the pioneers of the Arab solidarity in defending Iraq and Palestine”.

On behalf of President Saddam Hussein, Vice President Mr. Taha Yassin Ramadhan attended the conference.

Representative of President Saddam Hussein delivered a speech in which he conveyed His Excellency President Saddam Hussein wishes for conference’s proceedings a success to realize practical decisions embodying Arab masses and popular and vocational unions’ ambitions to strongly response over challenges and hazards besetting Arab nation.

“Arab masses, on the forefront popular and vocational organizations are demanded to raise up the higher preparedness states of sacrifice and jihad and limitless bounty to firmly confront the dangers besetting Arab nation since these threats target not only country, but include the entire nation. There is an imperialist US-Zionist program drawn by US along with its evil allies to be implemented in accordance with accounted formulas targeting many Arab countries to overwhelm the entire Arab nation and threaten its existence and values. If Iraq is the only name repeated these days, the other Arab and neighboring countries would be within these evil goals,” Ramadhan said. Adding, “this dangerous program aims to re-colonize Arab homeland and crumble its political structures to dominate its wealth and draw new map for the region allowing the Zionist entity to put an end to the Palestinian cause by deporting more of its people. This policy also paves the way for US evil administration to impose direct hegemony on Arab oil wells to control the economies of the industrial states.”

Present at the opening ceremony were member of Revolution Command Council Lieu Gen. Ali Hassan al- Majeed, numbers of Regional Command of Arab Bath Socialist Party members, officials, heads of popular and vocational organizations and representatives of diplomatic corps accredited to Baghdad.
