Iraq’s Desert will be Graveyard for Invaders

IRAQI MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

February 17, 2003

Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Naji Sabri said that the emergency meeting of Arab foreign ministers in Cairo was not held to discuss the summit but to discuss means of averting possible aggression on Iraq.

In an interview with Al-Sharq Al-Awsat newspaper, the Minister added that the main topic of the meeting was the aggression against Iraq.

Concerning Arab situation in case of any aggression, Dr. Sabri said that the Arabs should defend their dignity according to their great capabilities.

About Blix and Al-Baradei’s next visit to Baghdad, Dr. Sabri said that inspections were going on together with Iraq’s Full cooperation to facilitate inspectors’ mission.

The Minister added that Iraq was totally committed to SC resolutions, stressing Iraq’s voidance of WMD.

Dr. Sabri pointed out that despite Washington’s high technology and its psychological war, Iraq would achieve victory and make its desert a graveyard for the invaders.

The Minister affirmed that Egypt, Saudi Arab, Syria and all Arab countries were under aggressive threats without any exception.
