Statement by Spokesman of Ministry of Foreign
Affairs on Inspection Activities

IRAQI MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS

UNMOVIC Inspection Team (Biologyical):

Group I: Led by Raymon, American inspector, the group set out from Al- Qanat Hotel at 8.30 a.m. The group arrived at shells destruction site at Al-Azizeyah area, which belongs to the Ministry of Defense. The group inquired about the shells that have been discovered through the excavation work of yesterday and today. It, then, took specimen and samples from the site and photographed some of the destroyed. The inspection lasted for two hours, after which the group went back to Al-Qanat hotel.

B.Group II: A helicopter, on board of which were six inspectors headed by Al- Qanat Dutch inspector (Yan Roznique), took off from Al-Rasheed Airport and arrived at the Railway Station of Mosul. The group held a meeting with theManager of the Station. It inquired about the age of the station , whether there is subsidiary site to the Company of Mabayn Al-Nahrayn , and whether these roofings were existed fifteen years ago. The group then, went to Mabayn Al-Nahrayn Seeds company  / Mosul branch. It inquired about the yellow seed factory, and whether it is new, the activities of the site and the number of all laborers .The group, then, toured all the facilities of the company.

U2-Reconnaissance plane:

U2-reconnaissance plane entered the Iraqi air- space at 9.40 a.m. and reconnoitered numerous area of Iraq. Then, the plane left the Iraqi air-space at 3.10 p.m. after a reconnaissance operation that lasted for (5) hours and half.
