A statement by Spokesman for Ministry of Foreign Affairs on (UNMOVIC),(IAEA) activities IRAQI MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS February

1.
IAEA Inspection Team: A.
Group I:
This group, led by the British inspector Goldfield, was consisted of (5)
inspectors, left Al-Qanat Hotel at 9:45 a.m. and arrived at Al-Towaitha
site which belongs to the Atomic Energy Organization. The group
visited the Italian project and viewed the waste pools, and photographed
them.It also visited the destroyed French project. Then the group performed
a radiological survey by portable devices for all the sites.
The group returned to Al-Qanat Hotel. B.
Group II:
This group, led by the British inspector Teal Frank, was consisted of
(2) inspectors, left Al-Qanat Hotel at 9:45 a.m. and arrived at Al- Jadria
Scientific Complex and 17- April Company. The purpose of the visit was
to collect the Air- sampling apparatus and bring it back to Al- Qanat
Hotel.
The visit took about one and a half hour. Then the group returned to the
Hotel. C. Group III:
This group, led by the Canadian inspector Astrdo, was consisted of (3)
inspectors, left Al-Qanat Hotel at 9:45 a.m. This group performed a radiological
survey at Albu-Etha area, till the administrative borders of Al-Yousfia
.
The visit took about three hours. Then the group returned to the Hotel. 2.
UNMOVIC Inspection Team (Chemical)
This 10 - inspector team, which was led by the Austrian inspector Harold,
left Al-Qanat Hotel at 9:45a.m. and arrived at Al-Muthana site of Tariq
State Company, one of the MIC’s facilities, located some 50 km. north
of Baghdad. The purpose of the visit was to prepare a place for
destroying projectiles and other technical affairs. The visit took about two hours, and then the team returned to the Hotel.
