STATEMENT BY DR. KAMAL KHARRAZI,
FOREIGN MINISTER OF IRAN

Iranian foreign minister Dr. Kamal Kharrazi held talks with his Iraqi counterpart Mohammad Said al-Sahhaf in Doha on Friday on the sidelines of the OIC summit.

In the the meeting, the two sides discussed the ways to deepen bilateral ties.

Dr. Kharrazi said the two countries held talks on following up the agreements remaining from the war time, and that an Iraqi official would visit Tehran in a few days, adding, "We have entered the phase to continue our works."

He also said, "Today, an Iranian delegation has left Tehran for Iraq to follow up the case of exchanging POWs."

Iranian Foreign minister stressed executive steps should be taken for exchanging delegations in various fields.
