REMARKS BY SPOKESMAN

CHINESE FOREIGN MINISTRY

November 29, 2001

Excerpts

. . .

Q: Recently, there are increasing calls in the United States for military action against Iraq. The United States may expand the anti-terrorism war to Iraq. What is China's view?

A: We have noticed the relevant reports. China supports attacks on all sorts of terrorism. The attacks should abide by the purposes and principles of the UN Charter and the relevant norms of international law. There should be concrete evidence. We are opposed to willfully expanding the scope of attacks.
