BAIJI

 

Chemical complex that, according to the September 2002 British Iraq dossier, will produce nitric acid, which can be used in explosives, missile fuel and purification of uranium. The site is a former uranium-enrichment facility which was damaged during the Gulf War and then rendered harmless under the inspection regime before 1998, according to the U.S. Defense Department.
